Terms for using Atlas Calories.

Using Atlas

Atlas Calories provides tools for recording food, nutrition, goals, and related information. You are responsible for your account credentials, the information you enter, and activity on your account. Use the service only where permitted by law and do not misuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to it.

Health and nutrition information

Calorie goals, serving calculations, and nutrition values are estimates and can be incomplete or inaccurate. Atlas Calories is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. Do not use Atlas as a substitute for professional judgment. Seek advice from a qualified health professional for medical conditions, allergies, eating disorders, pregnancy, or other special dietary needs.

Food data and AI results

Reference, community, barcode, and AI-assisted food data can contain errors. The app identifies unverified and AI-assisted results at relevant decision points, but you remain responsible for reviewing values before relying on or saving them.

If you choose nutrition-label extraction, the label photo is sent to Google Gemini to extract food and nutrition text. Atlas does not intentionally retain the submitted photo. Google processes it under the Gemini API Terms and Google Privacy Policy; Google controls its own processing practices.

Your content

You retain responsibility for foods, aliases, nutrition values, and other content you submit. Custom foods are private unless you choose to make them public. Public community foods become visible to other users, remain unverified, and may be corrected or removed for accuracy, safety, legal, or service-integrity reasons. Do not submit personal, unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.

Third-party services

Atlas relies on services and data providers including Supabase, Google Gemini, USDA FoodData Central, and Open Food Facts. Their terms and privacy practices may apply when their services process a request. Availability and provider data may change independently of Atlas.

Availability and responsibility

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may fix, change, suspend, or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, Atlas Calories is not responsible for losses caused by relying on inaccurate nutrition data, interrupted service, or third-party content. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending use and changes

You may stop using Atlas and delete your account at any time. We may restrict access when necessary to protect users, the service, or comply with law. We may update these terms as the service changes and will revise the effective date on this page. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them.
